Important safety information

Last updated: October 16, 2026

This page explains the most important risks of the treatments offered through OnTrend Health. It's general information, not medical advice, and does not replace your medication label or your provider's instructions. In an emergency, call 911.

Before you start, tell your provider about

Every prescription and over-the-counter medicine and supplement you take, any allergies, recent or planned surgery, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and your full personal and family medical history.

OnTrend Shape: OnTrend Shape — Core and OnTrend Shape — Plus (compounded weekly injections)

Compounded medication. Prepared and dispensed by VSDH, a state-licensed compounding pharmacy, under an individual prescription from a licensed provider. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality. They are not generic versions of, and are not equivalent or interchangeable with, any FDA-approved brand-name product. Do not use if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 2 (MEN2); medicines in this class caused thyroid tumors in animal studies. Possible serious risks: pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, low blood sugar (higher with insulin or sulfonylureas), kidney problems from dehydration, changes in vision for people with diabetic eye disease, and allergic reactions. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you are trying to conceive. Tell any surgeon or anesthetist you use this medicine. Common side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain and tiredness. Get emergency help for severe stomach pain that won't go away, signs of an allergic reaction, or a lump or swelling in your neck.

OnTrend Balance: OnTrend Balance — Menopause Care (FDA-approved generic oral hormone therapy tablet)

Hormone therapy may increase the risk of stroke, blood clots, heart attack, breast cancer and dementia. If you have a uterus, estrogen-only therapy increases the risk of endometrial cancer, so your provider may add another medicine. Your provider uses the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed and reviews it with you regularly. Do not use if you have had breast cancer, a blood clot, stroke, heart attack, liver disease or unexplained vaginal bleeding, or if you are pregnant. Tell your provider about migraines, high blood pressure, smoking, gallbladder disease and any planned surgery. Common side effects: breast tenderness, headache, nausea, bloating and spotting. Get emergency help for chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, pain or swelling in one leg, sudden severe headache, vision changes, or weakness or numbness on one side of the body.

OnTrend Vitality: OnTrend Vitality — As Needed and OnTrend Vitality — Daily (FDA-approved generic oral tablets)

Never take with nitrate medicines for chest pain or a heart condition, or with "poppers". This can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Tell your provider about heart problems, stroke, low or high blood pressure, liver or kidney problems, or blood-pressure and prostate medicines (alpha-blockers). Get emergency help for chest pain, an erection lasting more than 4 hours, or sudden loss of vision or hearing. Common side effects: headache, flushing, indigestion, stuffy nose, back pain and muscle aches.

OnTrend Radiance: OnTrend Radiance — Hair for Him (FDA-approved generic oral tablet, men only)

For men only. Women who are or may become pregnant should not handle crushed or broken tablets, because the medicine can harm a male baby. Possible side effects: lower sex drive, erection or ejaculation problems, breast tenderness or enlargement, and mood changes including depression; tell your provider straight away about any mood change. It can lower PSA blood test results, so tell any clinician who checks your prostate that you take it. Results take 3 to 6 months and fade if you stop.

OnTrend Radiance: OnTrend Radiance — Hair for Her (compounded daily oral capsule)

Compounded medication. Prepared and dispensed by VSDH, a state-licensed compounding pharmacy, under an individual prescription from a licensed provider. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality. Not for use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive; use reliable contraception while taking it. It can lower blood pressure and raise potassium, so tell your provider about kidney problems, blood-pressure medicines, potassium supplements or water pills. Possible side effects: dizziness, irregular periods, breast tenderness, unwanted facial or body hair, and swelling of the hands or feet. Get emergency help for chest pain, a fast heartbeat or fainting.

OnTrend Radiance: OnTrend Radiance — Skin (FDA-approved generic topical cream)

Not for use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive. Commonly causes redness, peeling, dryness, burning and stinging, especially in the first weeks. It makes skin more sensitive to the sun: use sunscreen daily, cover up, and avoid tanning beds. Don't apply to broken, sunburned or eczema-affected skin, and avoid the eyes, mouth and nostrils.

Add-on your provider may offer in your account

Nausea Support (FDA-approved generic tablet, for OnTrend Shape patients only): may cause headache, constipation or tiredness; rarely, heart-rhythm changes. Tell your provider about heart-rhythm problems or medicines that affect heart rhythm.
